4very good bag
By Richard D. Naylor
After purchasing a super zoom lens to reduce my camera load I was looking for a smaller, lighter bag to replace my Kata backpack for frequent trips to Italy. Needed was a bag that could still carry my Dell 15.4 laptop and other gear but was not going to be too heavy…..What I chose was the Naneu Pro Tango.

Having just returned from two months in Italy I found this bag to work very well.
PROS:
1. Very easy size with which to travel.
2. two internal padded bags can be removed as needed allowing different configurations (note: mine came from the vendor with just one large bag, which, when I contacted the company, was informed that the one bag configuration had been discontinued for 3 years.. Had to purchase the two bag set up which was expressed shipped overnight…an added expense but worth it).
3. computer storage very well padded.
4. sleeve in back that slips over luggage handle is invaluable.
5. added side pockets a plus

CONS:
1. The attached compass that is attached to the bag is a joke …looks as if it’s from Toy R Us…..doesn’t work…cut it off immediately.
2. In addition to the padded carrying strap there is an added strap/sling permanently attached which is given its own pocket….a waste of needed space in my opinion. While I never fully understood the strap configuration I used it a few times ……came to the conclusion that if they had used the system used in the Kata 3N1 sling pack/backpack the Pro would be a much improved bag. I have read other reviews where folks have cut the permanent strap out of the TANGO PRO to make more room….I’m not there yet but I understand it.
3. The Pro, for me, was not a day trip, lets see what we can shoot today, bag…..It’s a bit too large …for a walk about bag(no computer, one extra lens, filters etc) I packed a Tamrac knapsack camera bag into which I placed one of the internal padded bags from the Pro….worked out very well. For trains, planes and automobiles within Italy I used the PRO.

CONCLUSION:
This is a great carry on bag for travel …..The Pro, fully packed (Dell computer ,Canon SLR with 17- 270 Lens, super wide 10-22 mm lens , speed light attachment ,video cam plus various computer and camera “stuff”) came out 12 lbs lighter than my previous bag…a HUGE difference when traveling . One can carry quite a bit and the equipment is protected. If I could change anything it would be a more flexible strap set up (alla Kata 3NI)…. I will continue to use the PRO TANGO for future trips but I will also continue to pack a day bag using the PRO padded inserts to protect the camera….and then there is the question about that permanent strap..

4rick’s review

I was looking for a camera bag large enough to hold two SLR with lenses as well as a lap top The Naneu Pro Tango fit that bill. I have two Canon Rebel xtis – one with a wide angle zoom and the other with a telephoto zoom. The Naneu Pro Tango was wide and deep enough to accommodate both cameras with the lenses attached. Since they’re digital cameras, I didn’t need the extra space for film. The front pockets are OK – I can store passports, lens cleaner, extra batteries and memory cards. The case comes with handle grips, which I seldom use, but are good to have; a shoulder strap, which is sturdy; and a sling strap which I found too short. I, myself, am quite tall at 5 feet 6 inches (quit laughing), and I have the sling extended as far as it will go, but find it uncomfortably high on my body. If you’re even just a little taller, this will be more of a challenge. I would have liked more pockets – there are none on the back or sides, but I can live without them. The inserts inside the bag are removable and adjustable, so I even have room for a small tripod to slip in between the cameras. It came with a carabiner clip on the front, but no explanation of what you would use it for or how. It’s an interesting conversation piece, but I would have preferred the compass that’s seen on other models. I have only had the bag for a month or so, and took it on a short extended weekend photo trip. It was relatively light and easy to handle. I haven’t hauled a lap top in it, yet. I’ll be taking a two week trip in a few months and will have a better idea of the level of comfort and accessibility.
